FEBRUARY 23, 2024 – WELCOME COLONEL

POK wants to stay as close as possible to its customers

We recently had the opportunity to meet Colonel Rémy Andriot, now head of the Aube fire brigade and departmental director of fire and rescue services. With a wealth of experience gained in the SDIS (formerly deputy departmental director of SDIS 18), Colonel Andriot brings a strategic vision that is vital to meeting the challenges facing the sector.

This first meeting with Colonel Andriot reinforces our close relationship with the fire brigade. Our shared values commit us to working together to meet the changing needs of firefighting. After a tour of the premises, Colonel Andriot spoke to our engineering office director about the changes to come and the innovations needed, highlighting the future challenges for fire brigades.

Tomorrow’s challenges for the SDIS

One of the major challenges increasingly facing firefighters is water management during firefighting operations. The frequency and intensity of wild fires are on the increase, and this is a cause for concern for the sector. France has 16.9 million hectares of forest in mainland France, making us vulnerable to the risk of fire. This risk should gradually spread to the north-west of France (Pays-de-la-Loire, Centre-de-Loire and Brittany) and intensify in areas already affected (south-west).
This growing threat, combined with the issue of water resource management, is creating new challenges to which we must respond.

High-Pressure lances : how can this equipment meet this need ?

High-pressure hoses reduce water consumption during outdoor operations, thanks to their limited flow rate and pressure of 20 to 30 bar. What’s more, these nozzles are easy to use when fighting fires in the open air: they are quick to set up and store (simplified logistical requirements, compared with low-pressure nozzles).

One of our high-pressure lances: AQUASTAR

Working pressure : 20 or 30 bar, depending on model.
